A woman in her 30s accused her father of rape after he declined to give her money. She has been sentenced to prison.

The Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court sentenced a woman, referred to as A, to 10 months in prison for defamation, business obstruction, and insult.

A defamed her father, B, by posting 11 times on an online forum claiming she was a victim of familial sexual violence.

She falsely alleged ongoing sexual abuse since age four and claimed her mother also suffered. A settlement of 30 million won was mentioned, calling for severe punishment.

A also falsely posted that B remarried a woman, C, with whom he allegedly had an affair.

In February 2021, A sued B for sexual assault damages but presented no evidence.

During the trial, A maintained her statements were true, but the court dismissed her claims, noting a lack of evidence of habitual abuse.

The court deemed A's claims false, considering B's financial support for her studies and the timing of her accusations after a denied financial request.

The court stated, "False information was spread due to financial grievances. The victims' reputations are irreparably damaged."

The court noted a high risk of reoffending as A continued similar posts. The victims' demand for severe punishment influenced the sentence.
